{"id":403,"date":"2010-06-25T03:28:04","date_gmt":"2010-06-25T03:28:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.transparent.com\/norwegian\/?p=403"},"modified":"2010-06-25T03:28:04","modified_gmt":"2010-06-25T03:28:04","slug":"summertime-in-norway","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.transparent.com\/norwegian\/summertime-in-norway\/","title":{"rendered":"Summertime in Norway"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>N\u00e5 er det sommertid!<\/strong> It\u00b4s summertime now! \u00a0<strong>Hva betyr sommer for deg?<\/strong> What does summer mean for you? \u00a0I can think of many things <strong>sommer<\/strong> means for me. <strong> Om sommeren.<\/strong>&#8230;..(During the summer&#8230;.)<\/p>\n<p>&#8211;<strong>Jeg soler meg n\u00e5r jeg har tid<\/strong> (I sunbathe when I have time)<\/p>\n<p><strong>-Jeg sykler s\u00e5 mye som mulig<\/strong> (I bike as much as I can)<\/p>\n<p><strong>-Jeg jogger med hunden min <\/strong>(I jog with my dog)<\/p>\n<p><strong>-N\u00e5r det er veldig varmt, spiser jeg is<\/strong> (When it\u00b4s really warm, I eat ice cream)<\/p>\n<p><strong>-Her i Minnesota er det mange mygg<\/strong> (Here in Minnesota, there are a lot of mosquitos)<\/p>\n<p><strong>-Det er bryllupsesong om sommeren i Minnesota<\/strong> (It\u00b4s wedding season in Minnesota during the summer)<\/p>\n<p><strong>-Man m\u00e5 klippe gresset minst en gang i uka<\/strong> (One must mow the lawn at least once a week)<\/p>\n<p><strong>-Det er fint \u00e5 grille p\u00e5 sommernetter<\/strong> (It\u00b4s nice to grill on summer nights)<\/p>\n<p>&#8211;<strong>Det er den beste tiden av \u00e5ret i Minnesota!<\/strong> (It\u00b4s the best time of year in Minnesota!)<\/p>\n<p><strong>-Jeg liker veldig godt \u00e5 g\u00e5 p\u00e5 campingtur<\/strong> (I like to go on camping trips).<\/p>\n<p><strong>-Det er mange r\u00e5varer som er fersk og smaker deilig, for eksempel jordb\u00e6r, asparages, og tomater<\/strong> (There are many raw foods that are fresh and taste wonderful, i.e. strawberries, asparagus, and tomatoes)<\/p>\n<p>So those are some of the things that I think of when I think of <strong>sommertid<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>What about <strong>sommertid i Norge? <\/strong>Many people have a misconception about the Norwegian climate. \u00a0Norway actually does experience quite warm temperatures considering her northerly latitudes. \u00a0I remember the summer of 2006 in Norway was one of the warmest on record. \u00a0I truly felt like I was at home in Minnesota, minus the <strong>fuktighe<\/strong>t (humidity) \ud83d\ude42 \u00a0Not only does it become surprisingly warm during the summer, especially in the southern part of the country, there are many hours of daylight. \u00a0In fact, Norway experiences more hours of daylight every year than any other country.<\/p>\n<p>All of the things I like to do during<strong> sommertiden <\/strong>here in Minnesota can be enjoyed in Norway as well. \u00a0Additionally, <strong>kan man klatre fjell <\/strong>(one can climb mountains), <strong>fiske i fjordene<\/strong> (fish in the fjords) <strong>reise med Hurtigruten p\u00e5 havet <\/strong>(travel by coastal ship on the ocean), <strong>se midnattsolen<\/strong> (see the midnight sun), <strong>og mange andre ting<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Hva liker du \u00e5 gj\u00f8re om sommeren<\/strong>? \u00a0What do you like to do during the summer?<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>N\u00e5 er det sommertid!
