svinefilet, kaffe, og \u00f8l<\/p><\/div>\n

I just got back from my first fjelltur<\/strong> (literally, mountain trip) in Nord-Norge and was it ever fantastisk<\/strong>! \u00a0We really should have gotten moving long before we did, but so goes it. \u00a0We were just on our way up at about 9pm when we remembered we had forgotten to take kaffe <\/strong>and matpakker<\/strong> (lunch bags). \u00a0We just made simple br\u00f8dskiver <\/strong>(slices of bread) with brunost <\/strong>(brown cheese) and sm\u00f8r<\/strong> (butter) with. \u00a0These were intended for frokost <\/strong>(breakfast). \u00a0Wait til you hear about middag<\/strong> (dinner), which we ate at approximately 1 am thanks to the midnattsol <\/strong>\ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n

So anyways, we didn\u00b4t end up getting underway until about 10:15 pm. \u00a0We arrived at our destination, a mountain in Rossfjorden, at 11:30, at which point we were extremely happy to put down our ryggsekker<\/strong> (backpacks) and set up camp. \u00a0Although it wasn\u00b4t a super long tur<\/strong>, it was quite steep and with 40-50 lb. backpacks, one becomes fort sliten<\/strong> (tired fast). \u00a0We stopped a couple times on the way to fill up our waterbottles with fresh Norwegian river water-absolutely delicious.<\/p>\n

Once we got to the top and found a suitable place to set up camp, we promptly set up our telt <\/strong>(tent), which proved to be small for 3 people even though it was a 3-manns telt<\/strong>. \u00a0Our next task was to find twigs and logs for a b\u00e5l <\/strong>(bonfire). \u00a0We had 2 fires going, one just for warmth and comfort and the other for the tasty pork tenderloin that we grilled. \u00a0It was first marinated in to typer sennep<\/strong> (2 kinds of mustard), honning<\/strong> (honey), appelsinjus<\/strong> (orange juice), salt, sitronpepper<\/strong>, and appelsinskall<\/strong> (orange rind). \u00a0Mmmm it was good. \u00a0We also had potetsalt<\/strong> and br\u00f8d,<\/strong> and of course, \u00f8l<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

It was quite cold up in the mountains. \u00a0I had my winter jacket on, long underwear, and a winter hat. \u00a0Sure makes sleeping in a telt <\/strong>very cozy. \u00a0We had soveposer<\/strong> (sleeping bags) that we could zip together to get even more body warmth. \u00a0Altfor mye<\/strong> (Way too much), woke up in the morning and could hardly breath I was so hot.<\/p>\n

I think it was about 8 when we woke up, at which point we made another small fire to boil water for kaffe<\/strong> which we enjoyed with br\u00f8dskiver<\/strong>. \u00a0Tried to fish a bit in the tiny lake that we were right next to, but apparently the fish don\u00b4t bite there. \u00a0My friends have been camping there for 20 years and have only caught 1 fish, despite the fact that there are a lot of big fish there. \u00a0I probably saw a few dozen jump.<\/p>\n

Well, the trip down was of course faster, but it rained the whole time, so we were absolutely drenched by the time we got down. \u00a0Always good to shower after a night of camping \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n

I will attach pictures of the beautiful view outside our tent and the awesome meal we made once I get them uploaded to my computer.<\/p>\n
