H\u00f8st i Troms\u00f8-is here. \u00a0Although the temperature has hovered in the 50s and a bit in the 60s since I\u00b4ve been here, now it really feels like h\u00f8st<\/strong> (fall). \u00a0We had a stretch of really nice weather, klare skyer <\/strong>(clear skies), sol<\/strong> (sun), and behagelige temperaturer<\/strong> (comfortable temperatures). \u00a0Since Saturday, the temperature has gone down a few grader<\/strong> (degrees) and sola har forsvunnet<\/strong> (the sun has disappeared). \u00a0Been pretty dreary the past few days. It started with D\u00f8gnvill Festival<\/strong> on Saturday with \u00a0kaldere temperaturer<\/strong> and regn<\/strong> (rain).<\/p>\n

Tr\u00e6rne mister bladene deres<\/strong> (The trees are losing their leaves) quite quickly as well. \u00a0I feel like just a few days ago some of tr\u00e6rne <\/strong>started to take on shades of gul <\/strong>(yellow) and today it is almost half and half. \u00a0I think weather changes in general happen more quickly up here in the far north. \u00a0The major indicator of how fast things change is the light. \u00a0When I arrived at the end of July, the sun never really set. \u00a0It was dusk for a couple of hours in the early am, but never totally dark, actually quite light. \u00a0Now, in the beginning of September the sun sets at about 8pm and rises at around 5am. \u00a0That is a huge difference from when I arrived! \u00a0I\u00b4m definitely noticing the effect on me-feeling more sleepy due to less daylight and less sol<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

However, looks like we\u00b4re going to have a sort of \u00cdndian Summer\u00b4as I know it at home in Minnesota. \u00a0From tomorrow through the weekend v\u00e6ret<\/strong> (the weather) is supposed to be very nice- 60s and sol <\/strong>with little vind<\/strong>. \u00a0Og jeg skal p\u00e5 jakt<\/strong> (And I\u00b4m going hunting) a couple hours south so it will be even a bit varmere<\/strong> and nicer:) \u00a0Perfect v\u00e6r \u00e5 g\u00e5 p\u00e5 jakt! <\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

It\u00b4s going to be my and my dog (weimaraner)\u00b4s first<\/span> jakttur (hunting trip). \u00a0We are going with a friend of mine who is my age and a bunch of older guys and their <\/span>hunder (dogs). \u00a0This is an annual trip for them so they are all very experienced with hunting and with hunting with <\/span>hunder. \u00a0Apparently one of them is like a Norwegian Caeser Milan with <\/span>hunder. \u00a0I\u00b4m super excited to see how my <\/span>hund is going to function as she is the world\u00b4s oldest breed of <\/span>st\u00e5ende fuglhunder (standing bird dogs). \u00a0I think she\u00b4s going to be excellent. \u00a0Hopefully she will help us find many<\/span> ryper (grouse) and <\/span>harer <\/strong>(hares) to eat for the big fellesmiddag<\/strong> (dinner altogether) on l\u00f8rdagskveld<\/strong> (Saturday night) at which point we will eat what we shoot. \u00a0I\u00b4ve been told there\u00b4s quite a bit of partying that goes on too \ud83d\ude42 so that should be fun after long days of walking around looking for ryper<\/strong> and harer<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
