I find the word hos <\/strong>quite interesting.\u00a0 Until recently I didn\u00b4t know it had so many betydninger<\/strong>( meanings).\u00a0 The other day a Norwegian was asking me if I thought Norwegian was a hard language to learn.\u00a0 I explained that although French and Spanish are the only other languages of which I have some comprehension, I have found Norwegian to be quite an easy language to learn.\u00a0 We discussed the simplicity of Norwegian grammar and verb conjugation (or lack thereof rather) and the size of the Norwegian vocabulary: very small.\u00a0 He said that he didn\u00b4t think English was very hard to learn, but the English vocabulary is so much larger.\u00a0 He said, \u00b4I don\u00b4t understand why you need so many different words.\u00a0 We have much fewer words.\u00a0 Many words have multiple betydninger<\/strong>, but as long as you can follow the context, it\u00b4s no problem.\u00b4 He is absolutely right-we certainly don\u00b4t need so many words to express ourselves.<\/p>\n

Back to hos<\/strong>, a word that has many betydninger<\/strong>.\u00a0 It can mean at, from, of, with, by, and among.\u00a0\u00a0 I can\u00b4t think of a word in English that has so many betydninger .\u00a0 It works so well though, because everyone understands which meaning hos<\/strong> has in a sentence based on what else is said.\u00a0 Now that you know the different betydninger<\/strong> of the word hos,<\/strong> I\u00b4ll show you examples of the word in sentences, all of which have slightly different betydninger<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
