Norwegian Mapping Authority. \u00a0NMA is a public agency of the Ministry of \u00a0the Environment responsible for Research and Development, surveying and mapping both land and sea, and generating and producing both digital and printed information (including loads of really cool maps).<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.transparent.com\/norwegian\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/14\/2011\/04\/Kart060722.jpg\" aria-label=\"Kart060722 300x291\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-956\"  alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"291\" \/ src=\"https:\/\/blogs.transparent.com\/norwegian\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/14\/2011\/04\/Kart060722-300x291.jpg\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>My dad and I traveled around Norway after I graduated from High School almost 10 years ago and visited many of our family members. \u00a0My father\u00b4s mother\u00b4s family comes from a small place near <em>\u00c5lesund <\/em>called <em>S\u00e6b\u00f8<\/em>, which lies on the <em>Hj\u00f8rundford<\/em>. \u00a0This is an absolutely spectacular area that I hope to visit again sometime. \u00a0In the meantime, I enjoy looking at the <strong>kart<\/strong> (map) of <em>Hj\u00f8rundfjord<\/em> that my dad purchased and gave to me. \u00a0It is an extremely detailed <strong>kart <\/strong>that shows <strong>h\u00f8yde <\/strong>(elevation), and\u00a0<strong>fjellnavn<\/strong> (mountain names). \u00a0On these <strong>kart,<\/strong> you will find additional information with symbols indicating:<\/p>\n<p><strong>hytte og koie<\/strong>-cottage and cabin<\/p>\n<p><strong>g\u00e5rd og s\u00e6ter<\/strong>-farm and chalet<\/p>\n<p><strong>skole<\/strong>-school<\/p>\n<p><strong>hotell<\/strong>-hotel<\/p>\n<p><strong>turisthytte<\/strong>-tourist hut (including <strong>betjent<\/strong>-staffed lodge, <strong>selvbetjent<\/strong>-selfservice chalet, and <strong>ubetjent<\/strong>-unstaffed hut)<\/p>\n<p><strong>sykehus<\/strong>-hospital<\/p>\n<p><strong>campingplass<\/strong>-campsite<\/p>\n<p><strong>kirke<\/strong>-church<\/p>\n<p><strong>gravplass<\/strong>-cemetary<\/p>\n<p><strong>kraftverk<\/strong>-power seriously sit and look at <strong>kart <\/strong>like these for hours, dreaming about climbing all of the <strong>fjell<\/strong> and wandering around the fjords.<\/p>\n<p><a
