He has enlightened Pashtoons through his legendary poetry for over 300 years. Pashtoons around the world honor Rahman Baba with the name &#8220;<em>Baba<\/em>,&#8221; meaning &#8220;grandfather.&#8221; <em>Rahman Baba<\/em> was born to the <strong><em>Saban<\/em><\/strong> tribe in 1650 in <em>Peshawar<\/em>, when Mughals were ruling the sub-continent. His forefathers migrated from the city of <em>Kandhar<\/em>, <em>Afghanistan<\/em> and settled in <em>Peshawar<\/em> valley. Through his <em>Sufi<\/em> poetry, <em>Rahman Baba<\/em> spread Islamic Theology in Pashtoon society and is credited as the most popular poet in Pashtoon<strong><em> <\/em><\/strong>history.<\/p>\n<p><em>Rahman Baba<\/em> lived a very simple life, which can be inferred from his verse:<\/p>\n<p>\u0628\u0627\u062f\u0634\u0627\u0647\u0627\u0646 \u06a9\u0647 \u0627\u0648\u0628\u0647 \u0633\u06a9\u064a \u067e\u0647 \u062c\u0627\u0645 \u062f\u0647 \u0632\u0631\u0648<\/p>\n<p>Though the wealthy drink water from a Golden Cup<\/p>\n<p>\u0645\u0627\u0631\u062d\u0645\u0627\u0646 \u0644\u0647 \u062f\u0647 \u062e\u0627\u0648\u0631\u0648\u06a9\u0646\u0689\u0648\u0644 \u0628\u0633\u00a0 \u062f\u06d2<\/p>\n<p>I <em>Rahman<\/em>, prefer this clay bowl.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=sch1wM02hI0\">http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=sch1wM02hI0<\/a><\/p>\n<p>By reading the spiritual poetry of <em>Rahman Baba<\/em>, some Muslims would think that life in this world will one day be lost. However, others believe that life after death is eternal and that <em>Rahman Baba<\/em> will live for an indefinite period of time. Some believe that <strong><em>Allah<\/em><\/strong> <em>Subhanahu wa Taala<\/em> has sent us to this world to fulfill the demands of <strong><em>Allah<\/em><\/strong> and spend our lives according to the teaching of <strong><em>Muhammad<\/em><\/strong> <em>Salulahu Alaihe Wa Salum<\/em> (Peace Be Upon Him).<\/p>\n<p><em>Rahman Baba<\/em> is one of the most admired poets in the Pashto literature and was named the most prestigious poet by <em>Pashto Academy<\/em>. He lived a life in solitude with no disturbance when he prayed to God. In his work \u201c<em>Da Baba pa Dewan Kay,<\/em>\u201d <em>Abduraf Benawa<\/em> stated that <em>Rahman Baba\u2019s<\/em> poetry serves as a motivator to do good and refrain from following the way of evils. One of the most renowned scholars in Pashto language, <em>Jeebi<\/em> admired the work of <em>Rahman Baba<\/em> and said: \u201cRahman Baba in his poetry has used a very simple language, and most of his poetry revolves around love, ethics, Islamic theology, and social problems, and if we remove <em>Rahman Baba<\/em> from the Pashto <em>Sufism<\/em>, it will simply become a valueless topic\u201d.<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.transparent.com\/pashto\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/22\/2010\/11\/Rahman-Baba-2.jpg\" aria-label=\"Rahman Baba 2\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\"  alt=\"\" title=\"Rahman Baba 2\" width=\"160\" height=\"228\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-380\" \/ src=\"https:\/\/blogs.transparent.com\/pashto\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/22\/2010\/11\/Rahman-Baba-2.jpg\"><\/a><br \/>\nA collection of <em>Rahman Baba\u2019s<\/em> work titled \u201c<strong><em>Da Rahman Baba Daiwan<\/em><\/strong>\u201d (<em>Anthology of Rahman Baba) <\/em>was been published in 1710. More than 25 manuscripts can be found in libraries across the globe including <em>Pashto Academy,<\/em> University of Peshawar, Bedleian Library Oxford, British Library, Bibliotheque Nationale in Paris, University Library Aligarh India, and John Ryland\u2019s Library Manchester UK.<\/p>\n<p>Various scholars from around the world, including <em>H.G. Raveerty, Raobert Sampson, Momin Khan, Adnan Riaz, Iskandar Zaidi, etc<\/em> have written theses regarding the work of <em>Rahman Baba. <\/em>Over many years citizens, scholars, and political readers have recognized the power and great meaning in <em>Rahman Baba<\/em>\u2019s poetry.
