What Christmas gifts did you get from Poland this year? Posted by on Dec 31, 2019 in Culture

Chances are you are living in Poland temporarily and visiting your family back in USA for Christmas. You probably are bringing some gifts along with you, or if you are not visiting them, you may be sending a Christmas package with gifts/souvenirs. Or you were born in Poland and live abroad now. You probably got a Christmas package from your loved ones from Poland. So what was inside? What are the most popular Christmas gifts from Poland?

Today I will share with you what I usually get for Christmas from Poland for Christmas.

Every year my family sends me some delicious Polish chocolate! Very simple, yet something special about it. Wedel is definitely my favorite and such a Polish staple! This chocolate often comes in beautiful tin boxes, which I save for little storage!

My favorite! I kept this box for 15 years!

Another thing I find in Christmas packages from my family are bąbki (glass Polish ornaments). I love them! Very hard to ship, since you really have to package it carefully. But so far all the ones I received over the years came without any damage:)

The first Christmas ornament I got from Poland since I moved to USA! Very special!

Something that my husband gets in the package from my family is a bottle of Polish vodka! Always a different one and usually pretty unique. I know, I know…you are not suppose to send vodka in a package…but somehow it always makes it here…and I don’t think my family ever puts it on the customs form…shhh

I told you they are unique! One of the last gifts my husband received from Poland!

I also always look forward to the beautiful Polish table wear, like runners, table cloths and embroidered napkins! I love them and they just look so beautiful on coffee tables, dining room tables, wherever you choose to put them!

Doesn’t it just look beautiful? I love this embroidered runner on my coffee table!

And one last thing…Last year my family started sending me a beautiful handmade Polish pottery as a gift! I absolutely love it! Not only it is such an amazing art work, but I also have an awesome piece of my Polish heritage on my table when I’m entertaining my friends and family. Bolesławiec Pottery makes all kinds of different things, Christmas ornaments included (which I got this year as well).

Bolesławiec Pottery ornament I received this year!
