Wiersz na powitanie szkoły Posted by on Aug 30, 2012 in Culture, Current News

September 1st is coming! First day of school for kids in Poland!

Here is a great poem to welcome the new school year:

Wiersz na powitanie szkoły

(Autor: Tadeusz Kubiak)

Żegnajcie, lasy zielone,

Żegnajcie rzeki błękitne.

Już wrzesień idzie przez łąki

I wrzosem liliowo kwitnie.

Już się zwołują jaskółki,

Już bocian rozkłada skrzydła,

Żurawie lecą po niebie,

Jak na dawnych malowidłach.

Żegnajcie, letnie przygody,

Czas już powracać do domu.

Złocą, czerwienią się liście

dębów, jesionów i klonów.

Witaj nam, szkoło radosna,

grająca dzwonkiem co rano!

Dzień dobry, szkoło wesoła.

Lesie i łąko, dobranoc.

Goodbye, forest green,

Goodbye blue river.

September comes through meadows

And lilac heather blooms.

Swallows are getting together

Even the stork spreads wings

Cranes are flying across the sky,

As the old paintings.

Goodbye, summer adventures

It is time to return home.

Leaves are getting gold and red

On oaks, ashes and maples.

Welcome joyful school,

Ringing the bell every morning!

Good morning, cheerful school.

Forest and meadow, goodnight.

Do następnego razu… (Till next time…)
