Tourists always want to visit Warszawa, Kraków and other popular places. Not too many people talk about countryside, so I wanted to give you a little picture of it today, because it is beautiful.

The theme of Polish country (polska wieś) was present many times in the history of Polish nation. It was present in poems, music, on pictures… Not to deny the advantage of Polish country, it is worth mentioning the fact of cultivation of many traditions from all epochs. Next advantage is healthy (zdrowe), active (aktywne) and not very fast life, which we can’t speak in big cities about. And probably for this reason we can observe a growing interest in leisure in the country actually. Polish country is near and accessible for everybody’s pocket.<img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignright size-medium wp-image-1614" alt="" width="232" height="196" / src="https://blogs.transparent.com/polish/wp-content/uploads/sites/18/2011/03/Europe-1-160-300x225.jpg">

It is nice to escape from the noise just for 2-3 days and hide far from city’s civilization, forget about everyday tasks and monotony and really rest (naprawdę odpocząć). To be near the animals, to go for a walk near water, trees, to swim in the river, go fishing, to go to the forest for mushrooms (a lot of Poles like to go mushroom picking and they are really good in it), to visit old country churches, to ride, to sit near a fireplace, to see and maybe try farmers work, to observe many plants, to taste and try to prepare some Polish regional food – not known anywhere else, to taste milk just taken from the cow with specific flavor, to hear birds sing, to see an owl in the evening.

Visiting Polish country is not only education about our natural environment, it is not only education about people who live here, and not only visiting places where food is produced but it is an opportunity to taste an apple taken from a tree, break of pear, plum or cherry. It is an occasion to taste true honey taken just from bees before distribution to glass; it is an occasion to observe how our Polish lard is produced. It is an occasion to take part in a country party, holidays, local festivals too. So if you are visiting Poland you should definitely take a 1-2 day trip outside the city and enjoy Polish countryside.

Do następnego razu!
