{"id":2009,"date":"2011-07-12T23:53:46","date_gmt":"2011-07-12T23:53:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.transparent.com\/polish\/?p=2009"},"modified":"2011-07-12T23:53:46","modified_gmt":"2011-07-12T23:53:46","slug":"obra-river-monster","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.transparent.com\/polish\/obra-river-monster\/","title":{"rendered":"Obra River Monster"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Loch Ness is not the only lake with a reputation for a monster.<em> <\/em>The northern section of the Obra River and lakes fed by the river are reputed to be home to the near-legendary\u00a0Obra River Monster (<strong> Potw\u00f3r Rzeczny<\/strong>).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.transparent.com\/polish\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/18\/2011\/07\/obra_bledzew.jpg\" aria-label=\"Obra Bledzew\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-2011\"  alt=\"\" width=\"202\" height=\"151\" \/ src=\"https:\/\/blogs.transparent.com\/polish\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/18\/2011\/07\/obra_bledzew.jpg\"><\/a>Over the years, many reliable witnesses (<strong>\u015bwiadkowie<\/strong>)\u00a0have reported seeing a giant snake-like creature (<strong>stworzenie<\/strong>) either in the river<strong> (rzeka<\/strong>) Warta or Obra, or in one of the many lakes, which are connected to the River Obra. Some report seeing ducks (<strong>kaczki<\/strong>), swans (<strong>\u0142ab\u0119dzie<\/strong>)\u00a0and even small dogs being attacked and dragged underwater by some powerful unseen predator (<strong>drapie\u017cnik<\/strong>). Few of which emerge from the water again. Others have supposedly witnessed a giant snake (<strong>ogromny w\u0105\u017c<\/strong>)\u00a0trying to upset boats on one of the lakes in the area in which the River Obra is situated.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Some have suggested that this snakelike monster is in fact a giant European catfish, which by some freak of nature (<strong>wybryk natury<\/strong>) has grown to enormous proportions (<strong>proporcje<\/strong>). Elsewhere in Europe the same fish has been told to have attacked dogs and large water birds (<strong>ptaki wodne<\/strong>), so there would appear to be no reason why the reports from Poland of a giant &#8216;lake monster&#8217; shouldn&#8217;t actually relate to a catfish.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Whether this is a giant fish or something more mysterious is uncertain (<strong>niepewne<\/strong>).
