They appear when it is raining in one part of the sky and sunny in another.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Some Interesting Facts about Rainbows:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<dl>\n<dt>When you see a rainbow&#8230;<strong>Kiedy widzisz\u00a0\u00a0t\u0119cz\u0119&#8230;<\/strong><\/dt>\n<dd>it is after rain (<strong>po deszczu<\/strong>). The sun is always behind you (<strong>za tob\u0105<\/strong>)\u00a0and the rain in front of you (<strong> przed<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>tob\u0105)\u00a0<\/strong>when a rainbow appears, so the center of the rainbow&#8217;s arc is directly opposite the sun.\u00a0<\/dd>\n<dt>Most people think&#8230;<strong>Wi\u0119kszo\u015b\u0107 ludzi my\u015bli&#8230;<\/strong><\/dt>\n<\/dl>\n<dl>\n<dt><\/dt>\n<dd>the only colors of a rainbow are red (<strong>czerwony<\/strong>), orange (<strong>pomara\u0144czowy<\/strong>), yellow (<strong>\u017c\u00f3\u0142ty<\/strong>), green (<strong>zielony<\/strong>), blue (<strong>niebieski<\/strong>), indigo (<strong>indygo<\/strong>), and violet (<strong>fioletowy<\/strong>), but a rainbow is actually made up of an entire continuum of colors\u2014even colors the eye can&#8217;t see!\u00a0<\/dd>\n<dt>We are able to see the colors of a rainbow because&#8230;<strong>Widzimy kolory t\u0119czy poniewa\u017c&#8230;<\/strong><\/dt>\n<dd>light of different colors is refracted (<strong>za\u0142amany<\/strong>)\u00a0when it travels from one medium, such as air, and into another- -in this case, the water of the raindrops. When all the colors that make up sunlight are combined, they look white (<strong>bia\u0142e<\/strong>), but once they are refracted, the colors break up into the ones we see in a rainbow.\u00a0<\/dd>\n<dt>Every person&#8230;<strong>Ka\u017cda osoba&#8230;<\/strong><\/dt>\n<dd>sees their own &#8220;personal&#8221; rainbow. When you look at one, you are seeing the light bounced off of certain raindrops (<strong>krople deszczu<\/strong>), but when the person standing next to you looks at the same rainbow, they may see the light reflecting off other raindrops from a completely different angle. In addition, everyone sees colors differently according to light and how their eyes interpret it.\u00a0<\/dd>\n<dt>You can never&#8230;<strong>Nigdy nie mo\u017cesz&#8230;<\/strong><\/dt>\n<dd>actually reach the end of a rainbow, where a pot of gold supposedly awaits. As you move, the rainbow that your eyes see moves as well, because the raindrops are at different spots in the atmosphere. The rainbow, then, will always &#8220;move away&#8221; at the same rate that you are moving.<\/dd>\n<dd><\/dd>\n<dd>Of course there are more colors that you are actually not able to see in the rainbow&#8230;but around it you will most likely see some earthy colors.
