\"\"<\/a>A noted Polish rapper has installed a sculpture of a giant dog\u2019s mess in the south-western city of Wroc\u0142aw, with the aim of prompting locals to be more conscientious about their pets.<\/p>\n

\u0141ukasz Rostkowski, aka L.U.C<\/strong>, laid the gleaming marvel on a patch of pristine grass by the city\u2019s Dominican Square.<\/p>\n

\u201cEvery year, dog messes pop up quicker than snowdrops,\u201d the artist told reporters Tuesday, as quoted in the\u00a0Gazeta Wyborcza\u00a0<\/em>daily.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur action is a bit of fun,\u201d he explained.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe want to highlight the problem through a joke, as there\u2019s no point in doing this in a serious way,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

Dealing with dog messes is no small matter in the city. Authorities have installed 1250 special bins for the excrement, collecting 143 tonnes last year. However, in spite of these bins, dog-owners often do not clean up after their pets.<\/p>\n

The unsavoury sculpture (niesmaczna rze\u017aba<\/strong>) in not the artist\u2019s first venture into civic affairs. The 30-year-old rapper and pop video director has also protested against the haphazard renovation of apartment blocks in the city.<\/p>\n
