{"id":3239,"date":"2012-05-26T23:45:25","date_gmt":"2012-05-26T23:45:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.transparent.com\/polish\/?p=3239"},"modified":"2012-05-26T23:45:25","modified_gmt":"2012-05-26T23:45:25","slug":"promotion-of-fascism-punishment","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.transparent.com\/polish\/promotion-of-fascism-punishment\/","title":{"rendered":"Promotion of fascism punishment"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Authorities have launched an inquiry into the case of two Asian tourists who are alleged to have made offensive gestures (<strong>obra\u017aliwe\u00a0gesty<\/strong>) promoting fascism (<strong>faszyzm<\/strong>) at Auschwitz recently.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.transparent.com\/polish\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/18\/2012\/05\/images-36.jpeg\" aria-label=\"Images 36\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-3240\"  alt=\"\" width=\"275\" height=\"183\" \/ src=\"https:\/\/blogs.transparent.com\/polish\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/18\/2012\/05\/images-36.jpeg\"><\/a>The incident (<strong>incydent<\/strong>) took place at the beginning of May and involves two men at the \u2018Arbeit Macht Frei\u2019 entrance gate who are believed to have made the Nazi salute (<strong>hitlerowskie pozdrowieniu<\/strong>) and \u201cinsulted the memorial space\u201d (<strong>&#8220;zniewa\u017cyli przestrze\u0144\u00a0pami\u0105tkow\u0105&#8221;<\/strong>).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">The guards monitoring the security cameras noticed the two Asian men and noted down their personal details.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Not long after the incident occurred, security guards notified the police (<strong>policja<\/strong>) and the video footage has been saved to help with the investigation (<strong>\u015bledztwo, dochodzenie<\/strong>).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">So far the authorities have not yet been able to speak to the two tourists, but will now decide whether their actions can be considered as promoting fascism.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000\">The promotion of fascism in Poland in punishable by up to two years behind bars and insulting the memory of victims, by either a fine or restraining order.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Do nast<\/strong><strong>\u0119pnego razu&#8230; <\/strong>(Till next time&#8230;)<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Authorities have launched an inquiry into the case of two Asian tourists who are alleged to have made offensive gestures (obra\u017aliwe\u00a0gesty) promoting fascism (faszyzm) at Auschwitz recently.
