Reports this week state that during the recent Euro 2012 football tournament, foreign tourists spent approximately PLN 1 bln whilst visiting the country.\"\"<\/a>
\nWith estimations by the Ministry of Sport and Tourism sitting at PLN 800 mln before the competition, the actual figure poured into the country is in fact PLN 200 mln more than expected.
\nAccording to official data published at the end of July, foreign tourists\u2019 expenditure in Poland during this time proved to be much higher the initial predictions contained in the report. This means the impact of the Euros will be higher than we thought.
\nThe data states that, broken down, each visitor spent an average of PLN 1,541 during their stay, with daily expenditure working out at around PLN 243 per person. Taking into account things such as accommodation, travel and insurance, it\u2019s estimated that each person forked out a total of PLN 2,654.
\nHowever, the country will not only benefit financially. It\u2019s extremely important to help promote Poland\u2019s image on an international scale.<\/p>\n
