{"id":3593,"date":"2012-08-31T02:21:13","date_gmt":"2012-08-31T02:21:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.transparent.com\/polish\/?p=3593"},"modified":"2012-09-01T03:06:04","modified_gmt":"2012-09-01T03:06:04","slug":"wifi-for-pkp-intercity","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.transparent.com\/polish\/wifi-for-pkp-intercity\/","title":{"rendered":"WiFi for PKP Intercity?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify\">There was good news for business travellers (<strong>podr\u00f3\u017cuj\u0105cy s\u0142u\u017cbowo<\/strong>) in Poland this week after the announcement that PKP Intercity is in the final stages of installing WiFi onboard its trains.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.transparent.com\/polish\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/18\/2012\/09\/main_pkp_intercity.jpg\" aria-label=\"Main Pkp Intercity\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-3594\"  alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" \/ src=\"https:\/\/blogs.transparent.com\/polish\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/18\/2012\/09\/main_pkp_intercity.jpg\"><\/a>While PKP has still to choose an Internet service provider (<strong>dostawca us\u0142ug internetowych<\/strong>), news station TVN24 states that customers will be able to connect via 2G, 3G and 3G+ technology.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Malgorzata Sitkowska, a spokesperson for the train company states that, all being well, it should be up and running before 2013. They are planning to complete the installation by the end of the year.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">However, it is still unclear whether or not customers will be expected to pay for the new service or not.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">TVN states that one idea is to add an additional sum onto the tickets of passengers who wish to use WiFi &#8211; but no more than PLN 5.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">\u201cIf you are connected to an Internet speed below 1 MB, then it doesn\u2019t make sense to fool around collecting money from people. However, as it will be faster than this, it is unlikely to be free,\u201d says the firm.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">What is your opinion?
