I always kept telling my dad that my future husband will cook for me! He used to say: &#8220;You will never find a husband who will cook for you all the time!&#8221;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Well..I did&#8230;Although I really enjoy making traditional Polish meals! And my husband enjoys these nights when we have Polish dinners! One of his favorites are go\u0142\u0105bki! Go\u0142\u0105bki definitely remind me a lot about Poland..it was always my favorite dish!\u00a0The history of traditional Polish stuffed cabbage begins in the nineteenth century. It comes from Eastern borderlands, from the vicinity of Tarnopol. Pigeons\/Stuffed cabbage (go\u0142\u0105bki) were initially prepared as a Christmas dish with buckwheat and potatoes. Recipes passed from mouth to mouth, from generation to generation has evolved into a well-known forms &#8211; wrapped in cabbage minced meat with rice.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">So today I would love to share my favorite recipe! It is almost like my mother used to make it&#8230;but I made few changes to make it my own:)<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><strong>Sk\u0142adniki:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify\">\n<li><strong>1 g\u0142\u00f3wka kapusty<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>1 szklanka ry\u017cu<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>1 funt mielonego mi\u0119sa wieprzowego<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>1 funt mielonego mi\u0119sa wo\u0142owego<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>1 puszka koncentratu pomidorowego (0.5 uncji)<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>1 cebula<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>3 li\u015bcie laurowe<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>2 \u0142y\u017ceczki vegety<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>1 \u0142y\u017ceczka pieprzu<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>1 \u0142y\u017ceczka soli<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify\">\n<li><strong>Sos<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>2 \u0142y\u017cki m\u0105ki<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>1 puszka koncentratu pomidorowego<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>3 \u0142y\u017cki \u015bmietany<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><strong><span class=\"Apple-style-span\">Z kapusty wytnij g\u0142\u0105b. W du\u017cym garnku zagotuj osolon\u0105 wod\u0119 i w\u0142\u00f3\u017c do niej g\u0142\u00f3wk\u0119 kapusty. Gotuj przez 10-15 minut. Wyjmij z wody i delikatnie oddziel li\u015b\u0107 po li\u015bciu. Od\u0142\u00f3\u017c je na bok (nie wylewaj wody w kt\u00f3rej kapusta si\u0119 gotowa\u0142a).<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><strong>W mi\u0119dzyczasie ugotuj ry\u017c (ugotuj na p\u00f3\u0142 twardo, reszta ry\u017cu dogotuje si\u0119 w go\u0142\u0105bkach). Pokr\u00f3j cebul\u0119 w kostk\u0119 i przysma\u017c na ma\u015ble.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><strong>W misce wymi\u0119szaj mi\u0119so mielone (wo\u0142owin\u0119 i wieprzowin\u0119), koncentrat pomidorowy, ry\u017c, s\u00f3l, pieprz, veget\u0119 , przysma\u017con\u0105 cebul\u0119.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><strong>Z masy uformuj kulki (wielko\u015b\u0107 w zale\u017cno\u015bci od wielko\u015bci li\u015bci) i zawijaj je w li\u015bcie kapusty. U\u0142\u00f3\u017c go\u0142\u0105bki w garnku.\u00a0Teraz wod\u0119 pozosta\u0142\u0105 po gotowaniu kapusty u\u017cyj \u00a0do zalania go\u0142\u0105bk\u00f3w. Ja przewa\u017cnie do tej wody dodaj\u0119 s\u00f3l, pieprz i odrobi\u0119 koncentratu pomidorowego, oraz li\u015bcie laurowe. Upewnij si\u0119 \u017ce woda zakrywa wszystkie go\u0142\u0105bki. Gotuj na wolnym ogniu przez godzin\u0119.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><strong>W mi\u0119dzyczasie zr\u00f3b<span class=\"Apple-style-span\">\u00a0sos: m\u0105k\u0119 rozmieszaj z obrobin\u0105 wody. Dodaj koncentrat pomidorowy i \u015bmietan\u0119, wymieszaj na jednolity sos na gor\u0105cej patelni.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><strong>Go\u0142\u0105bki podawaj z gotowanymi ziemniakami.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><strong>Smacznego!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.transparent.com\/polish\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/18\/2014\/11\/DSC_00191.jpg\" aria-label=\"DSC 00191 1024x687\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter  wp-image-5748\"  alt=\"DSC_0019\" width=\"536\" height=\"360\" \/ src=\"https:\/\/blogs.transparent.com\/polish\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/18\/2014\/11\/DSC_00191-1024x687.jpg\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.transparent.com\/polish\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/18\/2014\/11\/DSC_00191-1024x687.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/blogs.transparent.com\/polish\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/18\/2014\/11\/DSC_00191-350x235.jpg 350w, https:\/\/blogs.transparent.com\/polish\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/18\/2014\/11\/DSC_00191-768x516.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 536px) 100vw, 536px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"color: #800080\">Ingredients:<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"color: #800080\">1 cabbage<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #800080\">1 cup of rice<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #800080\">1 pound ground pork<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #800080\">1 pound ground beef<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #800080\">1 can tomato paste (0.5 oz)<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #800080\">1 onion<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #800080\">3 bay leaves<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #800080\">2 teaspoons of Vegeta (Polish spice of mixed vegetables &#8211; can be replaced with any vegetable mix spice)<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #800080\">1 teaspoon pepper<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #800080\">1 teaspoon salt<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"color: #800080\">sauce:<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #800080\">2 tablespoons flour<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #800080\">1 can of tomato paste<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #800080\">3 tablespoons sour cream<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #800080\">Cut the core of the cabbage out. In a large pot boil salted water and add the cabbage to it. Cook for 10-15 minutes. Remove from the water and gently separate leaf by leaf. Put them aside (do not pour out the water in which the cabbage is cooked).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #800080\">Meanwhile, cook rice (cook half way through, rice will get fully cooked inside the cabbage rolls). Chop the onions and saute them on the butter.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #800080\">In a bowl, mix the ground meat (beef and pork), tomato paste, rice, salt, pepper, Vegeta, sauteed onions.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #800080\">Make meat balls (size depending on the size of the leaves) and wrap them in a cabbage leafs. Place them in a large pot. Now use the remaining water after cooking cabbage to pour over go\u0142\u0105bki. I usually add salt, pepper, a little bit of tomato paste, and bay leaves. Make sure the water covers all the go\u0142\u0105bki. Simmer for an hour.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #800080\">Meanwhile, make the sauce: mix the flour with a little bit of water. Add tomato paste and cream and mix to a sauce in a hot pan.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #800080\">Stuffed cabbage serve with boiled potatoes.
