Fall is here;) Before we know it winter will arrive…and here in New Hampshire we are definitely hoping for a lot of snow. But what happens before winter comes…birds fly away to warm places! Artur Oppman’s poem “Ptaki odlatuj\u0105” is a perfect way to describe this time of the year!<\/p>\n

Yellowed leaf falls from the tree
\ncool breeze blows
\nbird’s choir no longer sings
\ndied away forests and woods.<\/p>\n

\n na niebieskie szlaki.<\/strong>
\n Posmutnia\u0142y nasze gaje –<\/strong>

Paler sun rises in the morning
\non blue trails.
\nSaddened our groves –
\n– The birds fly away.<\/p>\n

\n Lec\u0105 k\u0119dy\u015b w kraj nieznany<\/strong>

\nAlready a crowd of storks flies
\nin the blue expanse.
\nFlying from somewhere in a unknown country
\nfor the tenth sea.<\/p>\n

Puste gniazda zostawi\u0142y<\/strong>
\n nad wie\u015bniacz\u0105 strzech\u0105.<\/strong>
\n Ich znajomy klekot mi\u0142y<\/strong>
\n niesie z wiatrem echo.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Empty slots they left
\nover the peasant thatched roof.
\nTheir familiar clatter pleasant
\nthe wind carries the echo.<\/p>\n
