It can happen anywhere: at the library, at the bus stop, airport, park, work…There are always those times when there’s someone annoying us over and over. Yet, we often have no choice but to deal with them (especially at work). Even when we can break it off, we need to do it in a way that won\u2019t provoke them to act even worse.<\/p>\n

So what to do? “Stay calm and don’t react” – “Zachowaj spok\u00f3j i nie reaguj”<\/strong>. I guess that would be my first advice.\u00a0Silence does not make you weak (Milczenie nie sprawi, \u017ce jeste\u015b s\u0142aby<\/strong>)! Take a deep breath and focus on calming yourself (We\u017a g\u0142\u0119boki oddech i skup si\u0119 na uspokojeniu siebie<\/strong>). Count to 10…(Policz do dziesi\u0119ciu…<\/strong>).<\/p>\n

To politely ask the other person to leave or leave you alone may work : Please, leave me alone (Prosz\u0119, zostaw mnie w spokoju<\/strong>); I don’t feel like talking to anyone right now (Nie jestem teraz w nastroju do rozmowy<\/strong>); Excuse me, but I’m busy now (Przepraszam, ale jestem teraz zaj\u0119ta\/zaj\u0119ty<\/strong>).<\/p>\n

What other phrases may be helpful?<\/p>\n

I don’t talk to strangers! – Nie rozmawiam z nieznajomymi!<\/strong><\/p>\n

Please, respect my privacy and step away. – Prosz\u0119, uszanuj moj\u0105 prywatno\u015b\u0107 i odejd\u017a.<\/strong><\/p>\n

I really don’t need anybody’s advice right now – Naprawd\u0119 nie potrzebuj\u0105 niczyjej rady teraz.<\/strong><\/p>\n

I guess you can start reading a book and ignore a person! Or possibly pretend you don’t speak their language?:) Headphones usually work too, it doesn’t matter if you are actually listening to something or not! Or just simply walk away!<\/p>\n
