Since Saturday, July 7th,\u00a0police, firefighters and Animal Rescue Poland Foundation\u2019s specialists are after this snake (<strong>w\u0105\u017c<\/strong>).<\/p>\n<p>Police in Piaseczno, close to the Polish capital, have asked people to stay away from the river until the renegade reptile (<strong>renegatowy gad<\/strong>) is recovered.\u00a0Four drones, part of a search team of four boats and volunteers, police officers and firefighters, have taken more than 2,000 photographs which are being studied by wildlife experts hoping to spot the snake lurking in the wooded banks of Poland\u2019s longest river.<br \/>\nNative to India, Sri Lanka and south-east Asia, Indian pythons can reach six-metres long and can swallow a deer whole, although there are no reports of them eating people.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_7621\" style=\"width: 1034px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter post-item__attachment\"><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.transparent.com\/polish\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/18\/2018\/07\/snake-365037_1920.jpg\" aria-label=\"Snake 365037 1920 1024x778\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-7621\" class=\"wp-image-7621 size-large\"  alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"778\" \/ src=\"https:\/\/blogs.transparent.com\/polish\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/18\/2018\/07\/snake-365037_1920-1024x778.jpg\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.transparent.com\/polish\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/18\/2018\/07\/snake-365037_1920-1024x778.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/blogs.transparent.com\/polish\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/18\/2018\/07\/snake-365037_1920-350x266.jpg 350w, https:\/\/blogs.transparent.com\/polish\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/18\/2018\/07\/snake-365037_1920-768x583.jpg 768w, https:\/\/blogs.transparent.com\/polish\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/18\/2018\/07\/snake-365037_1920.jpg 1920w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-7621\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Image courtesy pixabay.com<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Radoslaw Ratajszczak, a zoo director, told the TVN television network that the python\u2019s natural camouflage (<strong>naturalny kamufla\u017c pytona<\/strong>) makes it hard to spot, and that cool weather now covering Poland will make the animal inactive and so even harder to find.<\/p>\n<p>The big trace of the snake so far has been a huge shed skin (<strong>wylinka<\/strong>), which triggered the hunt when it was found few days ago.\u00a0Many tracks leading out of and into the water were left in the mud on the riverbanks.<\/p>\n<p>Just how the python got into the river remains unclear, but reptile (<strong>gad<\/strong>) experts believe that it may have been kept as an exotic pet but then released into the wild when it became too large for its owner to handle. Piaseczno officials have opened a criminal investigation on the grounds that the snake\u2019s release has endangered public safety.<\/p>\n<p>Indian pythons live 25-30 years but are not be found in Europe. They prefer the warmth of Asia, Africa, Australia and South America. The snake could survive in the Vistula\u2019s surroundings only until fall. In autumn it will already be too cold for it to thrive.<\/p>\n<p>Definitely a scary story for me&#8230;I&#8217;m not a fan of ANY snakes!
