If you have, then you are lucky! If you haven’t – there is no time to waist! Start planning your trip, because the next Pierogi Festival is going to take place August 8th -14th in Krak\u00f3w.<\/p>\n

Pierogi are one of my favorite dishes from Polish cuisine. Comfort food, absolutely delicious!<\/p>\n

Did you know about this annual pierogi festival that takes place in Krak\u00f3w? This year’s dates are August 8th-14th and if you are going to be in Poland during those dates, you will absolutely have to attend it!<\/p>\n

During the festival, local restaurants make sure that visitors taste not only the traditional pierogi (like with meat, mushrooms, sauerkraut filling etc) but also filled with unusual combinations of ingredients. Some interesting stuffing options include salmon,\u00a0lamb, deer meat, smoked cheese, duck, morels. They are offered boiled, baked and fried!<\/p>\n

During the five day festival at various booths located on Small Market Square, Krak\u00f3w\u2019s restaurateurs offer all kinds of pierogi. They compete in two contests. One of them is judged by professional jury with “statue of St. Jacek with Pierogi” as a prize, and the other one voted by the festival attendants. The winner of best pierogi selected by the public received the “statue of beloved Polish King Casimir the Great”!<\/p>\n

Besides pierogi heaven and great local beer, visitors will also enjoy a range of concerts with various music styles.<\/p>\n
