Knights would often be seen carrying sausages on their belts (I&#8217;m assuming in case they got hungry or had to bribe someone ??\u200d\u2640\ufe0f?)<\/p>\n<p>#3\u00a0October 11th is National Sausage Pizza Day!<\/p>\n<p>#4 For many centuries, kie\u0142basa consisted of pork (<span class=\"Y2IQFc\" lang=\"pl\"><strong>mi\u0119so wieprzowe<\/strong>)<\/span>, pepper (<strong>pieprz<\/strong>), salt (<strong>s\u00f3l<\/strong>), marjoram (<strong>majeranek<\/strong>), and garlic (<strong>czosnek<\/strong>). In 1964, the government of Poland decided to introduce a new variety which contained 80% pork and 20% beef (with other ingredients staying the same.<\/p>\n<p>#5 Traditional smoking process for kie\u0142basa is one to one and a half days with a cold smoke (this way the flavor is locked in and lasts longer)<\/p>\n<p>#6 Sausage-processing methods include cooking (<strong>gotowanie<\/strong>), curing (<strong>peklowanie<\/strong>) and smoking (<strong>w\u0119dzenie<\/strong>)<\/p>\n<p>#7 The various denominations of kie\u0142basa usually derive their name from the region they were originally made or the name of its main ingredients (Kie\u0142basa krakowska is a Krak\u00f3w-style sausage. It is available in food stores all over Poland, but originally comes from Krak\u00f3w which, before World War II enjoyed a good reputation for sausages not only within the Polish territories but also abroad).<\/p>\n<p>#8 Kie\u0142basa is a very popular food around the bonfire in Poland! I definitely recommend it, if you ever have a chance to do it. Definitely one in a lifetime experience!
