Here are some examples that will help you remember how to distinguish the two.<\/p>\n<p>For the purposes of simplification, think of it this way:<\/p>\n<p><strong>levar<\/strong> = to take [a movement away from the speaker\/place of origin]<\/p>\n<p>Use with: l\u00e1\/ali<\/p>\n<p><strong>trazer<\/strong> = to bring [a movement towards the speaker\/place of origin]<\/p>\n<p>Use with: aqui<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Examples<\/span><\/p>\n<p><em>Eu vou levar o computador l\u00e1.<\/em> I&#8217;m going to take the computer there.<\/p>\n<p><em>Ela vai trazer o celular aqui.<\/em> She&#8217;s going to bring the cell phone here.<\/p>\n<p><em>Levei o dinheiro l<em>\u00e1 <\/em>para pagar a conta.<\/em> I took the money there to pay the bill.<\/p>\n<p><em>Foi ele que trouxe a roupa suja aqui.<\/em> He was the one who brought the dirty clothes here.<\/p>\n<p><em>Eu levei o bolo para a festa. <\/em>I took a cake to the party.<\/p>\n<p><em>Minha tia trouxe a feijoada para a minha festa.<\/em> My aunt brought feijoada to my party.<\/p>\n<p><em>Vou levar um presente para meu amigo no Brasil. Quando ele vier aos Estados Unidos, ele vai trazer um presente para mim. <\/em>I&#8217;m going to take a present to my friend in Brazil.
