{"id":1794,"date":"2010-12-07T15:53:43","date_gmt":"2010-12-07T15:53:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.transparent.com\/portuguese\/?p=1794"},"modified":"2010-12-07T23:28:49","modified_gmt":"2010-12-07T23:28:49","slug":"brasileirao-and-the-fluminense-victory","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.transparent.com\/portuguese\/brasileirao-and-the-fluminense-victory\/","title":{"rendered":"Brasileir\u00e3o and the Fluminense Victory"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>You know that feeling you get when your team makes it to the Super Bowl or the World Series?\u00a0 Or for those non-Americans, when there\u2019s a big national tournament that decides the fate of who the national champion is going to be that year?<\/p>\n<p>Well, Sunday was like that for me.\u00a0 The <em>Brasileir\u00e3o<\/em>, is our regular season \u201ctournament,\u201d but there are no \u201cfinals,\u201d just a final round where all teams play and whoever has the most points at the end of the regular season wins the entire tournament.\u00a0 Which is more fair and less emotional.\u00a0 But this year, 3 teams were practically neck and neck, all from different states, and included my favorite from Minas Gerais, <em>Cruzeiro<\/em>, a S\u00e3o Paulo team, <em>Corinthians,<\/em> and a team from Rio, <em>Fluminense.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>In the end, <em>Fluminense <\/em>took it after 26 years of not seeing a <em>Brasileir\u00e3o <\/em>title.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.transparent.com\/portuguese\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/13\/2010\/12\/flu.jpg\" aria-label=\"Flu\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-1798\" title=\"fluminense-2010-brasileirao\"  alt=\"\" width=\"450\" height=\"300\" \/ src=\"https:\/\/blogs.transparent.com\/portuguese\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/13\/2010\/12\/flu.jpg\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.transparent.com\/portuguese\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/13\/2010\/12\/flu.jpg 450w, https:\/\/blogs.transparent.com\/portuguese\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/13\/2010\/12\/flu-350x233.jpg 350w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 450px) 100vw, 450px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Here\u2019s a little bit from an article on <em><a href=\"http:\/\/globoesporte.globo.com\/futebol\/brasileirao-serie-a\/noticia\/2010\/12\/vinte-e-seis-anos-depois-fluminense-volta-ser-campeao-brasileiro.html\">Globo Esporte<\/a><\/em> talking about their long overdue victory!<\/p>\n<p><em>Vinte e seis anos, seis meses e oito dias. Um ano depois da arrancada espetacular que livrou o clube do rebaixamento, a equipe de Muricy ficou 23 rodadas na lideran\u00e7a. Ningu\u00e9m esteve mais na frente no Brasileir\u00e3o 2010.
