It means &#8220;to like,&#8221; but is used in various contexts. Unlike the Spanish <i>gustar<\/i>, which is a bit tricky for English-speakers to learn, <i>gostar<\/i> is a completely regular verb. <\/p>\n<p>Here are of <i>gostar<\/i>&#8216;s uses.<\/p>\n<p>First, in the present tense, it can mean something you <b>normally<\/b> <b>enjoy<\/b> or prefer.<br \/>Example: <i>Voc\u00ea gosta de futebol? <\/i>Do you like soccer?<\/p>\n<p>Also in the present tense, it means if you are <b>attracted<\/b> <b>to someone<\/b>.<br \/>Example: <i>Ele gosta da minha irm\u00e3<\/i>.
