Every neighborhood or small town has at least one (please let me know if I&#8217;m wrong!) \u00a0and you can buy all sorts of things you need for the week without having to go to the supermarket.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The <em>feira<\/em> near my house on Saturdays has all sorts of fruits (and the <em>feirantes<\/em>, those selling the goods, let you taste the fruit before buying it!), vegetables, meats, fish, spices, and even flowers to decorate my apartment and random kitchen utensils!<\/p>\n<p>I don&#8217;t know about many other states or cities, but at least in S\u00e3o Paulo, every <em>feira <\/em>has at least one booth with <em>pasteis <\/em>and another usually right in front of it that sells <em>caldo de cana <\/em>(sugar cane juice)\u00a0and <em>\u00e1gua de coco<\/em> (coconut water)<em>.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>This past Saturday, my friend and I went to the feira and decided to have <em>pasteis<\/em> and <em>caldo de cana<\/em> for lunch. \u00a0<em>Um pastel<\/em> is a deep fried pastry stuffed with all sorts of meats, cheese, fish, and vegetables. \u00a0There are even sweet <em>pasteis<\/em> with banana, chocolate, or <em>doce de leite. <\/em>The ones here run at R$3 each and are quite filling!
