It works best with certain types of speech, particularly objects, some nouns, and even verbs, and it works best for words that are best understood in a visual format. It&#8217;s especially helpful for visual <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.transparent.com\/portuguese\/language-learner-types\/\">learners<\/a>!<\/p>\n<p>Let&#8217;s say you come across a word in a sentence you don&#8217;t understand:<\/p>\n<p><em>Ela fez um bolo de abacaxi para a festa.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Let&#8217;s say you haven&#8217;t heard the word abacaxi before. Plug it into the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.google.com.br\/imghp?hl=pt-BR&amp;tab=wi\">Google Images Brazil<\/a>, and voil\u00e1:<a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.transparent.com\/portuguese\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/13\/2011\/04\/Screen-shot-2011-04-26-at-10.12.53-PM.png\"><br \/>\n<\/a><\/p>\n<p>This trick sometimes works for verbs too:<\/p>\n<p><em>espirrar<\/em><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Sometimes it even works with adjectives!<\/p>\n<p><em>escorregadio<\/em><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s just another way to help learn new vocabulary words instead of just plugging them in to a translator.
