I realized this past weekend that I&#8217;m starting to develop the saammee habit. Sunday morning, as I was eating breakfast, I realized someone had hidden a few bananas deep into our fruit\/bread\/anything really basket and they didn&#8217;t look too appetizing. So I looked into our cabinets and fridge, and realized I had ingredients to bake a banana cake! And I did&#8230; I found a great little <em><a href=\"http:\/\/tudogostoso.uol.com.br\/receita\/50-bolo-de-banana.html\">Bolo de Banana<\/a> <\/em>recipe online and added my own adaptations and it came out pretty good!<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Here&#8217;s the recipe I used with Brazilian names and measurements and all, and then the English speaking\/American version &#8211;<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Bolo de Banana da Poly \ud83d\ude42<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Ingredientes <\/em><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><em>1 x\u00edcara (ch\u00e1) de a\u00e7\u00facar<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>2 x\u00edcaras (ch\u00e1) de farinha de soja (mas pode usar de trigo tamb\u00e9m!)<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>1 x\u00edcara (ch\u00e1) de leite<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>1 colher (sopa) de fermento em p\u00f3<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>5 colheres (sopa) de margarina<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>2 ovos grandes<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>4 bananas cortadas em fatias<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>a\u00e7\u00facar e canela para polvilhar<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><em>Modo de Preparo <\/em><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><em>Misture bem o a\u00e7\u00facar, a farinha, a margarina, o ovo, o leite, o fermento, e uma das bananas com uma colher em uma vasilha m\u00e9dia<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>Coloque a massa numa forma untada com margarina e polvilhada com farinha de trigo <\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>Por cima, distribua as bananas cortadas<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>Finalize polvilhando bastante a\u00e7\u00facar com canela<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>Leve para assar em forno m\u00e9dio por 20-30 minutos<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>Poly&#8217;s Banana Cake \ud83d\ude42<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Ingredients<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>2\/3 cups sugar<\/li>\n<li>1 1\/2 cups soy flour (but you can use wheat flour too! We&#8217;re just on a &#8220;healthier options diet&#8221; at home)<\/li>\n<li>2\/3 cups milk (can be 2% or whole&#8230; anything less might not work out too well)<\/li>\n<li>1 tablespoon baking powder<\/li>\n<li>5 tablespoons of margarine<\/li>\n<li>2 large eggs<\/li>\n<li>4 bananas cut in slices<\/li>\n<li>sugar and cinnamon to sprinkle on cake<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Directions<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Mix the sugar, flour, margarine, eggs, milk, baking powder and one of the bananas in a medium bowl<\/li>\n<li>Place the mix in a baking pan that has been greased with margarine and powdered with flour<\/li>\n<li>Distribute the bananas over the mix in the pan, covering the entire cake<\/li>\n<li>Finish by powdering sugar and cinnamon (preferably mixed beforehand), to taste, over the bananas<\/li>\n<li>Cook on medium heat in the over for 20-30 minutes (my oven&#8217;s really small, so it was ready in 20 minutes!)<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>If you try it and like it, let me know!!
