Yesterday was the S\u00e3o Paulo Gay Pride Parade, Parada do Orgulho Gay<\/em>, the biggest gay pride parade in the world! This past weekend’s event turned 15 (and had a valsa de 15 anos<\/em> to boot), and hit records with an estimated 4 million in attendance. This year has been a big one for a more anti-homophobic Brazil, with the legalization of gay marriage and protests against the many attacks of violence spurred by homophobia across the country, so this year’s parade was a pretty special one for all.<\/p>\n

This video was a commercial for the event. For those who don’t know, in Brazil, it is common for a girl’s 15th birthday party to be a huge event, complete with a waltz with her father and\/or boyfriend. Since it was the parade’s 15th birthday – they celebrated with a waltz.<\/p>\n

A organiza\u00e7\u00e3o da 15\u00aa Parada do Orgulho LGBT (l\u00e9sbicas, gays, bissexuais e transexuais) fez uma estimativa de 4 milh\u00f5es de participantes na noite deste domingo (26), minutos ap\u00f3s o fim do evento, no Centro de S\u00e3o Paulo. A PM, no entanto, disse n\u00e3o ter um balan\u00e7o do n\u00famero de participantes.<\/em><\/p>\n

Apesar da chuva, o p\u00fablico lotou a Avenida Paulista e a Rua da Consola\u00e7\u00e3o durante a festa, que teve in\u00edcio \u00e0s 13h. O \u00faltimo trio deixou as ruas por volta das 18h30. Ao todo, 16 trios el\u00e9tricos animaram o p\u00fablico.<\/em><\/p>\n

\u201cA gente bateu o recorde. Achamos que a chuva ia atrapalhar, mas foi o contr\u00e1rio. A Parada foi muito tranquila. Foi incr\u00edvel. Nossa mensagem foi passada\u201d, afirmou Leandro Rodrigues, da Associa\u00e7\u00e3o Brasileira de Gays, L\u00e9sbicas e Transg\u00eaneros. O tema deste ano foi: \u201cAmai-vos uns aos outros: basta de homofobia!\u201d … <\/em><\/p>\n

Novamente neste ano as fantasias deram o tom da festa. V\u00e1rias pessoas aproveitaram o evento tamb\u00e9m para protestar, como um grupo de \u00edndios do Alto Xingu (MT), que levou faixas contra a constru\u00e7\u00e3o da usina de Belo Monte.<\/em><\/p>\n

Ex-BBBs marcaram presen\u00e7a na Parada. Daniel, da \u00faltima edi\u00e7\u00e3o, fez parte de um dos trios. O deputado federal Jean Wyllys (PSOL-RJ) tamb\u00e9m compareceu e discursou ao lado da senadora Marta Suplicy (PT-SP).<\/em><\/p>\n

Considerada a diva da Parada, Preta Gil foi ao local e tamb\u00e9m falou sobre o evento. “Acredito na diversidade e na inclus\u00e3o. Sempre fui militante da causa GLS porque \u00e9 a minha causa e de todo ser humano que entende a complexidade de ser humano.”<\/em><\/p>\n
