Now we&#8217;re going to learn how to write informal emails in Portuguese. These are the types of messages you&#8217;d send to co-workers, friends, or acquaintances.<\/p>\n<p>1. <strong>Salutation<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>You can use Caro (or Cara, for a female) for dear, as in Dear Andr\u00e9. Similarly, you can use Querido or Querida for dear, if it&#8217;s a loved one or friend. The simplest salutation is just Ol\u00e1 or Oi (hello, hi). For co-workers, you could also use Prezado colega or Estimado colega (Dear colleague).<\/p>\n<p>2.<strong> Body of the E-mail<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Some key phrases for the body of the email:<\/p>\n<p>-Tudo bem? or Tudo bom? (How&#8217;s it going?)<\/p>\n<p>-Como est\u00e3o as coisas? (How are things?)<\/p>\n<p>-Tentei ligar para voc\u00ea (I tried to call you)<\/p>\n<p>-Queria saber se (I wanted to know if)<\/p>\n<p>-Bom final de semana! (Have a good weekend)<\/p>\n<p>3. <strong>Leave-taking<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>For a loved one or friend, you can use:<\/p>\n<p>Um abra\u00e7o (a hug)<br \/>\nUm beijo (a kiss)<br \/>\nAbra\u00e7os (hugs)<br \/>\nBeijos (kisses)<br \/>\nAbs (short for abra\u00e7os)<\/p>\n<p>For co-workers and slightly more formal recipients, you can use:<\/p>\n<p>Sauda\u00e7\u00f5es (salutations)<br \/>\nObrigado\/a (thank you)<\/p>\n<p>Here&#8217;s an example of an informal email.<\/p>\n<p><em>Ol\u00e1 Maria!<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Tudo bem?
