The first Libertadores was held in 1960 and was won by a Uruguayan team. Brazilian clubs have won 15 Libertadores since then, including last year, when S\u00e3o Paulo&#8217;s Santos team claimed victory.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"SANTOS TRI CAMPE\u00c3O DA LIBERTADORES 2011 - Globo Esporte RJ 23 06 2011\" width=\"500\" height=\"375\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/J-rOwkCzDPM?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>In order to get into Libertadores, each team must qualify within its country of origin. In Brazil, the four top teams in the Campeonato Brasileiro and the winning team of the Copa do Brasil qualify for Libertadores.<\/p>\n<p>The 2012 <a href=\"http:\/\/globoesporte.globo.com\/futebol\/libertadores\/#\/classificacao-e-jogos\">quarter-finals<\/a> are happening now, and Brazilian teams Fluminense (from Rio), Santos (from S\u00e3o Paulo), Vasco (from Rio), and Corinthians (from S\u00e3o Paulo) made it to this round.
