Matheus<\/strong>: Voc\u00ea parece meio chateado. O que aconteceu?<\/p>\n

Leandro<\/strong>: Nossa, tive um dia terr\u00edvel. Pra come\u00e7ar o pneu do meu carro furou logo cedo, na hora que eu estava indo trabalhar. E n\u00e3o foi s\u00f3 isso!<\/p>\n

Matheus<\/strong>: Jura? O que mais aconteceu?<\/p>\n

Leandro<\/strong>: Bom, peguei um tr\u00e2nsito horr\u00edvel e finalmente quando eu cheguei ao meu trabalho me dei conta de que tinha esquecido em casa a maleta com alguns relat\u00f3rios importantes.<\/p>\n

Matheus<\/strong>: Quer dizer que voc\u00ea teve que voltar pra casa pra buscar?<\/p>\n

Leandro<\/strong>: \u00c9 isso a\u00ed. E adivinha o que aconteceu quando eu estava voltando pro escrit\u00f3rio?<\/p>\n

Matheus<\/strong>: N\u00e3o fa\u00e7o a m\u00ednima ideia.<\/p>\n

Leandro<\/strong>: Teve um acidente pequeno, e o tr\u00e2nsito n\u00e3o andava de jeito nenhum. Levei mais de uma hora pra voltar at\u00e9 aqui e como voc\u00ea deve ter imaginado, perdi a reuni\u00e3o com os vendedores.<\/p>\n

Matheus<\/strong>: O chefe n\u00e3o disse nada?<\/p>\n

Leandro<\/strong>: O qu\u00ea? Ele acabou comigo e disse que eu era irrespons\u00e1vel. Acredita?<\/p>\n

Here are some cool expressions from the dialogue above (yes, I played both parts!).<\/p>\n

chateado<\/strong> – upset, annoyed
\nnossa<\/strong> – wow, man
\npra come\u00e7ar<\/strong> – for starters
\no pneu do meu carro furou<\/strong> – I had a flat tire (lit. my car tire was flat)
\nlogo cedo<\/strong> – early in the morning
\nna hora que<\/strong> – when, at the time that
\nJura?<\/strong> – Really?
\npegar um tr\u00e2nsito horr\u00edvel<\/strong> – to be stuck in traffic
\nme dei conta<\/strong> – I realized
\nquer dizer que…<\/strong> – so you…, you mean that you…
\n\u00e9 isso a\u00ed<\/strong> – that’s right! that’s it!
\nadivinha<\/strong> – guess
\nn\u00e3o fa\u00e7o a m\u00ednima ideia<\/strong> – I don’t have the slightest idea
\num acidente pequeno<\/strong> – a fender bender
\no tr\u00e2nsito n\u00e3o andava<\/strong> – traffic was not moving
\nde jeito nenhum<\/strong> – no way, not at all
\nlevei mais de uma hora<\/strong> – it took me more than one hour
\nele acabou comigo<\/strong> – he told me off<\/p>\n

Here’s a tip: why don’t you take this dialogue and learn it completely? Let me explain – there are several chunks of language in the dialogue above that can be used in more than one situation so start studying one line every day and be really good at it, you will see how your spoken fluency will improve. You can do this with other dialogues and sentences.<\/p>\n
