Let&#8217;s take a look:<\/p>\n<p>1. <strong>Oi? <\/strong><strong><br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This is frequently used when you didn&#8217;t catch what the person said. Though it literally means <em>hi<\/em>, it is also used as <em>what<\/em>?<\/p>\n<p>2. <strong>Como? <\/strong><strong><br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Though this also means <em>how<\/em>, it is a more formal way to say <em>what<\/em>? when you didn&#8217;t hear someone.<\/p>\n<p>3.<strong> O que? \/ Que?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>These mean <em>what<\/em>? and imply you didn&#8217;t understand or hear the person.<\/p>\n<p>4. <strong>O que que \u00e9? <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This is a slangier version of #3, which rougly translates to &#8220;<em>What was that<\/em>?&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>5. <strong>Como \u00e9 que e?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This is similar to #5, which also means &#8220;<em>What was that<\/em>?&#8221; or &#8220;<em>I didn&#8217;t catch that<\/em>.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>6. <strong>Como voc\u00ea disse?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This is a more formal way of reacting, which means, &#8220;<em>What did you say?<\/em>&#8221; or &#8220;<em>Come again<\/em>?&#8221;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>There are a number of different ways to react when you don&#8217;t understand or didn&#8217;t hear what someone said in Portuguese.
