Today we have a very common idiom im Portuguese: n\u00e3o pregar o olho.<\/strong><\/p>\n

It means “not to sleep a wink” and it happens to everybody once in a while. Here are some examples:<\/p>\n

A m\u00fasica estava t\u00e3o alta na casa do vizinho que eu n\u00e3o consegui pregar o olho<\/strong> a noite toda.
\nThe music was so loud at the neighbor’s that I couldn’t sleep a wink.<\/em><\/p>\n

Tenho tr\u00eas provas esta semana e tenho que entregar um trabalho enorme at\u00e9 sexta-feira. N\u00e3o tenho conseguido pregar o olho<\/strong> por causa disso.
\nI have three tests this week and I have to submit a huge paper by Friday. I haven’t been able to sleep a wink because of that.<\/em><\/p>\n
