A reader emailed me and suggested I write something about making phone calls in Portuguese. I collected some useful phrases and sentences, so here we go!<\/p>\n

Oi, eu gostaria de falar com o Pedro, por favor. [Hi, may I speak to Pedro, please?]<\/em>
\nOi, o Pedro est\u00e1? [Hi, is Pedro there?]<\/em>
\nAqui \u00e9 o Jo\u00e3o. [This is Jo\u00e3o.]<\/em>
\nSou um amigo dele. [I’m a friend of his.]<\/em>
\nTrabalho com ele. [I work with him.]<\/em>
\nOi, \u00e9 o Pedro. [Hi, this is Pedro.]<\/em>
\nVoc\u00ea est\u00e1 ocupado? [Are you busy?]<\/em>
\nVoc\u00ea est\u00e1 podendo falar? [Did I catch a bad time?]<\/em>
