Cair do cavalo<\/strong> = to fail trying to do something, to fall flat on your face<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Ele chegou l\u00e1 achando que ela estava em casa, mas caiu do cavalo. Ela tinha sa\u00eddo.<br \/>\n<em>He arrived there thinking she was at home, but he fell flat on his face. She had stepped out.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>03. Ficar com um p\u00e9 atr\u00e1s<\/strong> = to be suspicious of something, to be careful<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">A gente tem sempre que ficar com um p\u00e9 atr\u00e1s antes de fazer neg\u00f3cios com algu\u00e9m.<br \/>\n<em>We always have to be careful before doing business with someone.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>04. Dar murro em ponta de faca<\/strong> = to insist in vain<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Esperar que ele chegue no hor\u00e1rio \u00e9 dar murro em ponta de faca. Ele chega sempre atrasado.<br \/>\n<em>Expecting him to come on time is to insist in vain. He&#8217;s always late.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>05. Escreveu, n\u00e3o leu, o pau comeu.<\/strong> = If you misbehave, you&#8217;ll suffer the consequences<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Na minha casa era assim: &#8220;Escreveu, n\u00e3o leu, o pau comeu.&#8221;<br \/>\n<em>At my house it was like this: If you misbehave, you&#8217;ll suffer the consequences.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>07. Uma m\u00e3o na roda<\/strong> = a big help, (something) very convenient<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Nossa, meu bairro \u00e9 uma m\u00e3o na roda. Tem tudo o que voc\u00ea precisa, bem pertinho.<br \/>\n<em>Man, my neighborhood is very convenient.
