When discussing celebrities, there are a few important words and phrases to keep in mind.<\/p>\n

1. grande <\/strong>\"\"<\/p>\n

i.e. ator \/ atriz \/ cantor \/ cantora \/ artista<\/em> <\/strong>(actor, actress, male singer, female singer, artist)
\n<\/strong><\/p>\n

Even though grande<\/em> means big in some contexts, in this context it means great.<\/p>\n

Kate Winslet \u00e9 uma grande atriz<\/em>, e j\u00e1 ganhou o Oscar<\/em>. Kate Winslet is a great actress, and has won an Oscar.<\/p>\n

2. trabalhar muito<\/strong><\/p>\n

This means that someone is really good at what he\/she does, and is frequently used to describe actors.<\/p>\n

Vi muitos filmes do Ralph Fiennes, e ele trabalha muito.<\/em> I’ve seen a lot of Ralph Fiennes’ films, and he is really good.<\/p>\n

3. celebridade<\/strong><\/p>\n

This is straight forward–celebrity.<\/p>\n

Os vencedores do Big Brother Brasil s\u00e3o celebridades nacionais. <\/em>The winners of Big Brother Brasil are national celebrities.<\/p>\n

4. estrela de cinema<\/strong><\/p>\n

This means movie star.<\/p>\n

Ela \u00e9 estrela de cinema, mas \u00e9<\/strong> muito humilde.<\/em> She’s a movie star, but she’s very down to earth.<\/p>\n

5. astro<\/strong><\/p>\n

This means superstar.<\/p>\n

Pel\u00e9 conheceu outros astros de futebol na festa.<\/em> <\/strong>Pel\u00e9 met other football superstars at the party.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
