01. Torrar grana<\/strong> – to blow money<\/p>\n

Queria saber como ele conseguiu torrar<\/strong> <\/em>tanta grana<\/strong> <\/em>num fim de semana s\u00f3. –\u00a0I wonder how he managed to blow so much money in only one weekend.<\/em>
\nN\u00e3o d\u00e1 pra ficar torrando grana<\/strong><\/em> se voc\u00ea est\u00e1 desempregado. –\u00a0You can’t keep blowing money if you’re out of work.<\/em><\/p>\n

02.Tomar pau<\/strong> – to flunk<\/p>\n

Na escola, o Paulo tomou pau<\/strong><\/em> em todas as mat\u00e9rias menos portugu\u00eas. – Paulo flunked at all his subjects at school but Portuguese.
\nSe voc\u00ea n\u00e3o entrar na linha e estudar voc\u00ea vai tomar pau<\/strong><\/em>.
\nIf you don’t get your act together and study you’ll flunk.<\/p>\n

03. Quebrar o galho<\/strong> – to make do, to help out<\/p>\n

N\u00e3o t\u00ednhamos a\u00e7\u00facar para ado\u00e7ar o ch\u00e1 ent\u00e3o tivemos que quebrar o galho<\/strong><\/em> com mel. – We didn’t have any sugar to sweeten our tea so we had to make do with honey.
\nEle sempre quebra meu galho<\/strong><\/em> quando eu preciso de dinheiro. – He always helps me out when I need money.<\/p>\n

04. Rachar a conta<\/strong> – to go dutch, to split the bill<\/p>\n

Sempre que sa\u00edmos rachamos a conta<\/strong><\/em>. – We always go dutch when we go out.
\n“Vamos rachar<\/strong><\/em>!”, disse a Susana quando o gar\u00e7om trouxe a conta. – “Let’s go dutch!”, Susana said when the waiter brought the check.<\/p>\n

05. N\u00e3o ter nada a ver com…<\/strong> – to have nothing to do with…<\/p>\n

N\u00e3o tenho nada a ver com<\/strong><\/em> isso. – I have nothing to do with that.
\nDeixa ele fora disso! Ele n\u00e3o tem nada a ver com<\/strong><\/em> o que aconteceu. – Leave him out if this! He has nothing to do with what happened.<\/p>\n

06. Jogar conversa fora<\/strong> – to shoot the breeze<\/p>\n

Gosto de passar as tardes de s\u00e1bado tomando cerveja com os amigos e jogando conversa fora<\/strong><\/em>. – I like to spend my Saturday afternoons drinking beer with my friends and shooting the breeze.
\nVem aqui pra gente jogar conversa fora<\/strong><\/em>. – Come over so we can shoot the breeze.<\/p>\n

07. Ganhar dinheiro a rodo<\/strong><\/em> – to make money hand over fist<\/p>\n

Os neg\u00f3cios melhoraram e eles come\u00e7aram a ganhar dinheiro a rodo<\/strong><\/em>. – Business picked up and they started to make money hand over fist.
\nVamos ganhar dinheiro a rodo<\/strong><\/em> com este novo projeto. – We’re going to make money hand over fist with this new project.<\/p>\n
