{"id":578,"date":"2009-06-22T20:56:05","date_gmt":"2009-06-23T00:56:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.transparent.com\/portuguese\/?p=545"},"modified":"2009-06-22T20:56:05","modified_gmt":"2009-06-23T00:56:05","slug":"brazilian-dance-chula","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.transparent.com\/portuguese\/brazilian-dance-chula\/","title":{"rendered":"Brazilian Dance: Chula"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil&#8217;s southernmost state and one of the states most heavily populated by European descendants, has a number of traditional dances that come from several European traditions.<\/p>\n<p>One of these dances is called <em>chula<\/em>. Of Portuguese origin, this dance is done in male pairs by stomping and tapping in a sort of dance off between each pair.
