From amazing shoppings (malls) to exotic nature reserves and great nightlife, a trip to Manaus can be the perfect trip. Here are some of the best spots:

PONTA NEGRA – A praia da Ponta Negra (Ponta Negra beach) is great for an early morning walk, swimming in the afternoon, or a snack or dinner at night. My favorite time to visit Ponta Negra is at o anoitecer de Manaus (dusk in Manaus is usually at 5:00PM).

TEATRO AMAZONAS – This is an opera house in the heart of Manaus. It was finished in 1896 and is home of the Amazonas Philharmonic Orchestra. You can stop in for a tour from one of their knowledgeable guides or buy tickets for one of their unique shows (these shows usually sell out quickly!).

PRESIDENTE FIGUEIREDO – Presidente Figueiredo is an area outside of the city of Manaus, but is a short car ride out of the city. If you want to spend some time out of the rush of the city, it is great to spend a few days here. There is hiking, boating, and swimming all around beautiful waterfalls.

These are just a few of the things to do and places to visit in Manaus. It is a unique, wonderful city that you will fall in love with.

What cities do you think of when you think of when you think of Brazil?
