The Amazon and Igua\u00e7u Falls <a href=\"http:\/\/www.globoamazonia.com\/Amazonia\/0,,MUL1237284-16052,00-AMAZONIA+E+CATARATAS+DO+IGUACU+SAO+FINALISTAS+DAS+MARAVILHAS+DA+NATUREZA.html?origem=twitter\" target=\"_blank\">were chosen<\/a> amongst thirty total natural wonders from around the world. They are competing against the Grand Canyon, the Great Barrier Reef, the Dead Sea, and Mount Kilimanjaro, amongst others.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\n<p>The top thirty finalists were chosen by a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.vote7.com\/n7w\/official-new7wonders-nature-panel-experts\" target=\"_blank\">panel of experts<\/a> based on five factors: unique beauty, diversity and distribution, ecological significance, historical legacy, and geo-location (allowing an equal amount of finalists from the seven continents).<\/p>\n<p>You can vote for your favorite seven wonders of nature on the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.new7wonders.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">official website<\/a>, though the results won&#8217;t be announced until 2011.
