In Brazil, however, you only go to a GP in case you do not know what is wrong with you or if it is an emergency.<\/p>\n<p>Let\u2019s say you have a sore throat, you will go straight to a <em>Otorrinolaringologista<\/em> in Brazil, since they are specialised in throat, nose and ears. In case you have a back problem you will seek a <em>Ortopedista<\/em> and if you have a sore stomach, the <em>Gastroenterologista<\/em> is the doctor to go to. However, if you think you might have a cold or maybe you are feeling feverish, nauseated, faint, have a rash and other symptoms you will then seek a <em>Cl\u00ednico Geral <\/em>(GP).<\/p>\n<p>Some useful vocabulary:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>Calling to make an appointment:<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ul>\n<li>Eu gostaria de marcar uma consulta com um m\u00e9dico\/cl\u00ednico geral. (<em>I would like to make an appointment to see a doctor\/GP?)<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ol start=\"2\">\n<li><strong>At the doctor\u2019s office:<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ul>\n<li>Eu tenho uma consulta com o Dr. Connor \u00e0s quatro horas. (<em>I have an appointment to see Doctor Connor at four o\u2019clock<\/em>)<\/li>\n<li>Eu tenho uma consulta \u00e0s quatro horas.
