On his route to acclaim, Tim Maia would hang out with outros (other) notorious Brazilian musicians, like Roberto Carlos and Jorge Ben Jor. The cantor (singer) spent some time in America, where he formed a group, The Ideals, but was deported back after quatro (four) years. In 1970, he recorded in first album, <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Tim Maia.<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> Maia logo (soon) became a legend, identified by his raspy, potent and distinctive voz (voice), an original musical style, as wells as a fascinating magnetism. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Tired of unfavorable deals, in 1975 he founded his own label to achieve artistic and creative freedom. As someone who identified himself with black culture, Maia\u2019s songs are representative of Brazilian soul, funk and disco music. Known for a bohemian, carefree lifestyle, Tim Maia had a breakdown onstage in 1998 and passed away shortly depois (after) due to heart complications. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">His legacy includes a sequence of memorable hits and romantic ballads. Tim Maia now ranks as um dos mais (one of the most) popular and beloved cantores (singers) in the country. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">This short video on Tim Maia\u2019s life
