Hey, guys!<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Are you ready for <em>Carnaval<\/em>? Brazil&#8217;s longest-awaited party\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">is only on February 28th, but the celebrations <em>aqui<\/em> (here)\u00a0are already at full steam. The <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">marchinhas <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">(typical carnaval music that satirizes military marches), samba and frevo are some of the rhythms that get the party going, showing the diversity of the country and the specific characteristics of its regions. Some of its stylistic references are Frevo, Reggae, Afro-Brazilian rhythms, Forr\u00f3 and Maracatu.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Remember that, in our previous post about Yemanj\u00e1 day, we talked about the importance of religions of African origin in Brazil? The name &#8220;ax\u00e9&#8221; is another proof of this relationship, because the <em>palavra<\/em> (word) is a religious greeting used by the faithful of Candombl\u00e9 that means &#8220;positive energy.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">And how can we not talk about positive energy when it comes to the genre that gives rhythm to the largest popular celebration in the country?<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">It was <\/span><b>ax\u00e9 <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">that introduced to Brazil some musicians that today are among the most famous in the nation, like Luiz Caldas, Carlinhos Brown, Daniela Mercury, Ivete Sangalo, Margareth Menezes and Bell Marques.
