Another favorite option is the unforgettable experience of spending <\/span>ano novo<\/span><\/i> (New Year\u2019s Eve) in the cidade<\/em> (city) of Salvador, in the state of Bahia. Known as the capital do ver\u00e3o<\/em> (summer capital), Salvador is primarily recognized by its spectacular carnaval festivities. Hundreds of thousands of people flock to the ruas<\/em> (streets) or nearby buildings and hotels to check out the free live concerts in the massive stage organized by the city. This <\/span>ano<\/span><\/i> (year), the ax\u00e9 star Claudia Leitte is in charge of the countdown leading up to climax: 10 minutes of fireworks going ablaze and brightening up the evening amidst the tall buildings and thrilled urban crowds.<\/span><\/p>\n
