{"id":789,"date":"2010-03-11T08:00:20","date_gmt":"2010-03-11T08:00:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.transparent.com\/portuguese\/?p=789"},"modified":"2010-03-07T18:03:31","modified_gmt":"2010-03-07T18:03:31","slug":"brazilian-recipes-baking-pao-de-queijo","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.transparent.com\/portuguese\/brazilian-recipes-baking-pao-de-queijo\/","title":{"rendered":"Brazilian Recipes &#8211; Baking P\u00e3o de Queijo"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Today we\u2019re going to learn to make <em>p\u00e3o de queijo<\/em>, probably one of the most famous snacks to come from <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Minas_Gerais\">Minas Gerais<\/a>, in the Southeast of Brazil.\u00a0 In Minas Gerais and most other parts of the country, the crispy on the outside chewy on the inside \u201ccheese bread,\u201d is served fresh from the oven at breakfast or during an afternoon snack with coffee.\u00a0 The main ingredient besides cheese is sweet <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Cassava\">cassava<\/a> flour (also known as manion or yuca flour) which can be found in Brazilian stores, or large supermarket chains in the \u201cInternational Foods,\u201d aisle.<\/p>\n<p>I\u2019m going to share with you my <em>Mineira<\/em> mother\u2019s recipe so I hope you enjoy and let us know how they came out!<\/p>\n<p><strong>P\u00e3o de Queijo<\/strong> (Cheese Bread\/Bun)<\/p>\n<p><em>Ingredientes<\/em> (Ingredients)<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; 1 pacote de polvilho doce de 500 gramas (500 g package of sweet cassava flour)<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; 1 copo de leite (1 cup of milk)<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; \u00bd copo de \u00f3leo vegetal (\u00bd cup vegetable oil)<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; sal a gosto (salt to taste)<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; 2 ovos grandes (2 large eggs)<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; \u00be kilo queijo minas ralado ( \u00be kg shredded Minas cheese)<\/p>\n<p><em>Modo de Preparo <\/em>(Preparation)<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Coloque o leite, \u00f3leo e sal em uma panela pequena e leva no fogo at\u00e9 ferver (Heat the milk, oil and salt in a small pan stirring until the mixture boils)<\/li>\n<li>Coloque o polvilho em uma vasilha grande (Place the cassava flour in a large bowl)<\/li>\n<li>Jogue a mistura quente na vasilha com o polvilho (Pour the heated mixture in the bowl with the flour)<\/li>\n<li>Mexe at\u00e9 esfriar (Mix until the mixture cools)<\/li>\n<li>Coloque os dois ovos, e depois o queijo aos poucos (Break the two eggs into the mixture and add cheese a little at a time)<\/li>\n<li>Vai mexendo com as m\u00e3os at\u00e9 a mistura desgrudar das m\u00e3os (Mix with your hands until the mixture comes off your hands easily)<\/li>\n<li>Fazer pequenas bolinhas e coloque em uma forma (Make small balls and place them on a clean pan)<\/li>\n<li>Coloque a forma no forno pre-aquecido em 150-200 graus celsius (Place the pan in a pre-heated oven at about 150-200 degrees celsius \u2013 about 350-400 degrees F)<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Serve quente com caf\u00e9!
