Come agrião? Sempre. Costuma tomar refrigerante? Ah, só de vez em quando. Fruta na sobremesa? Ah, muuuuiiitas vezes. The hair styles in the office are well cut, well taken care of. Not me, it’s loose hair, dried out by the sun and lack of care. Calm down, it’s just a metaphor. I am not like that. We talk about training, racing, motivation, injuries and … nutrition. Then my problem begins. I’m a social misfit. In the running society, I become a corporate hippie when it comes to nutrition. “So, what did the nutritionist give you before the training?” It is at this moment that I clear my throat, talk about the low quality of the air, pretend to answer my phone. Nutri… what? No, sir, I’ve never been to a nutritionist. In the mandatory check-ups here in the office, I have to “stop” (I have never understood this verb always used among health professionals) by the nutritionist. I usually lie when I “stop” over there. Do you eat watercress? Always. Do you usually drink soda? Oh, just once in a while. Fruit for dessert? Ah, maaaaany times. Once the form is filled out, they discover that I lack iron, zinc, cadmium, niobium or one of these chemical elements that I decorated in the periodic table for school. And they prescribe a menu.
