{"id":8420,"date":"2020-05-03T10:20:24","date_gmt":"2020-05-03T10:20:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.transparent.com\/portuguese\/?p=8420"},"modified":"2020-05-02T11:17:58","modified_gmt":"2020-05-02T11:17:58","slug":"dia-mundial-da-lingua-portuguesa","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.transparent.com\/portuguese\/dia-mundial-da-lingua-portuguesa\/","title":{"rendered":"Dia Mundial da L\u00edngua Portuguesa"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>As of November 2019, UNESCO officially declared May 5th as the <strong>Dia Mundial da L\u00edngua Portuguesa<\/strong> (International Portuguese Language Day) also known as <strong>Dia da Lusofonia.\u00a0<\/strong>This means that, this week, we will the celebrating this important date to express our deep appreciation and pride for our <em>l\u00edngua materna<\/em> (mother tongue) for the first time. A number of cultural events will gather <em>artistas lus\u00f3fonos<\/em> (lusophones artists) for <em>palestras<\/em> (lectures), debates, <em>lan\u00e7amentos de livros<\/em> (book launchings), <em>leituras de poesia<\/em> (poetry readings), <em>exibi\u00e7\u00e3o de filmes<\/em> (movie screenings) and<em> shows<\/em> (concerts) will be held worlwide. The good news is that, due to lockdown and social isolation restrictions, most of these will be taking place entirely online, meaning that all of you eager learners everywhere will be able to enjoy live streamings of the programme and improve your language skills!<\/p>\n<p>From Sunday 3rd to Tuesday 5th, the <strong>Museu da L\u00edngua Portuguesa<\/strong> will be offering free online attractions on their <em>Facebook<\/em> and <em>Youtube<\/em> pages.
