Greetings to all readers!. My question for you today is: how can we <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">conhecer <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(get to know) a country? Some of you might say that it can be be through experience, contact with the culture, its <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">pessoas <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(people) and also through reading articles and videos that try to explain some facts and curiosities about the <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">lugar <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(place). In addition, another way to expand our <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">conhecimento <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(knowledge) and awareness of a new culture can be through its local art and artists. And what better place to do that than museums? Though visiting these institutions in person at the moment is not ideal, compiled a list of Brazilian museums that are making part of their <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">acervos <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(collections) available for free virtual tours. In addition to checking out the exhibitions, reading informative texts and watching videos are great <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">ferramentas <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(tools) to practice your Portuguese skills. So, what do you know about <strong>Brazilian<\/strong> <strong>art<\/strong>?<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The first suggestion is a no-brainer:, MASP (Museum of Art of S\u00e3o Paulo), most likely the best-known art institution in the country. The first museum dedicated to modern art in Brazil is located <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">no cora\u00e7\u00e3o<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (in the heart) of the city of S\u00e3o Paulo, as its name indicates, and was founded in 1947. Here we highlight two sections that deserve your attention: 1) the temporary exhibition by the highly influential modern artist<\/span> <a href=\"https:\/\/masp.org.br\/en\/exhibitions\/helio-oiticica-dance-in-my-experience\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">H\u00e9lio Oiticica<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (which is also available in English) and 2) <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/artsandculture.google.com\/exhibit\/arte-do-brasil-at%C3%A9-1900\/jAISTqF8WN4CKg\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A Arte no Brasil at\u00e9 1900<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, but feel free to get lost in the hundreds of MASP artworks available through <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/artsandculture.google.com\/partner\/masp\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">google arts aqui<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">At the Museum of Modern Art of S\u00e3o Paulo (MAM), you can visit the first <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/artsandculture.google.com\/exhibit\/antonio-dias-derrotas-e-vit%C3%B3rias\/gwKicPLPSDG2IA\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">exposi\u00e7\u00e3o retrospectiva do artista paraibano Antonio Dias<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, who passed in 2018. With trabalhos (works) ranging from the military dictatorship period in Brazil that began in the 1960s to his recent production in the 2000s, the exhibition offers an overview of the artist&#8217;s trajectory.
