most part besides 20, are the root of the single number. \u00a0Unlike\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.transparent.com\/french\/french-numbers-1-100\/\">French numbers<\/a>, there&#8217;s no tricky math or anything. \u00a0The patterns are similar to\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.transparent.com\/italian\/italian-numbers-1-100-3\/\">Italian<\/a> or Spanish numbers. \u00a0The starred numbers, 16, 17, and 19 are spelled differently in Portugal,\u00a0<em>dezasseis, dezassete and dezanove<\/em>, respectively.<\/p>\n<p>Some people question whether the &#8220;e&#8221; is correct between &#8220;vinte&#8221; and &#8220;um,&#8221; etc. \u00a0is correct and whether the number &#8220;vinte um,&#8221; is not correct itself. \u00a0&#8220;Vinte um,&#8221; is correct (as is &#8220;vinte e um&#8221;) when speaking of a quantity of something.<\/p>\n<p>ex,1. Year &#8211; &#8217;96 = noventa e seis and\u00a0<em>not<\/em> noventa seis<\/p>\n<p>ex,2. Hours &#8211; Open 24 hours &#8211;\u00a0<em>Aberto vinte e quatro horas<\/em><em> <\/em>or\u00a0<em>Aberto vinte quatro horas.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Understandable?
