If you are a frequent reader of our texts, probably the words &#8220;<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">friozinho<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">&#8220;, &#8220;<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">tempinho<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">&#8221; and &#8220;<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">sopinha<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">&#8221; are not strange to you. They, like many others, are part of Brazilian spoken language. No matter the situation and social position, Brazilians have a strong tendency to speak <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">no<\/span><\/i><b><i> diminutivo<\/i><\/b> <span style=\"font-weight: 400\">(<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">in the diminutive form). Usually, the suffix <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">inho\/inha<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> or <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">zinho\/zinha<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> are added to these words, as we&#8217;ve even written before<a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.transparent.com\/portuguese\/augmentative-e-diminutive-in-portuguese\/\"> here<\/a>. However, there are many other words with these \u201cinho\/inha\u201d endings that are actually not in the diminutive, and today we are going to list them so you can boost your vocabulary and avoid falling into these language traps.
